In at least 500 words (2 double-spaced pages), thoroughly examine a term related to this island feminisms course
Remember to use strong writing skills, including paragraph form. Aim for clarity and precision of language, because if we want to learn to set our own terms of engagement, we need to be able to be very clear about what we are talking about, and what we are not.

- Provide the intellectual genealogy of the term: What disciplinary field(s) does it come from or is it popularly used in? What is its historical context?
- Why it has come into prominence? Is it "talking back" to other perspectives?
- Discuss its meaning and if/how that meaning has changed over time
- Talk about its reception and/or political currency in contemporary usage
- Relate how it applies to specific Island world views
